Tokyo Meets Paris – KENZO Fall-Winter 2025 by Nigo
KENZO Fall-Winter 2025 by Nigo blends Tokyo and Paris with a vibrant fusion of cultures, textures, and creative collaborations.
KENZO’s creative director, Nigo, unveiled his highly anticipated Fall-Winter 2025 collection with a striking runway presentation at the Palais de Chaillot, set against the iconic backdrop of the Eiffel Tower.
Titled "The Kenzo Commute," the collection takes inspiration from a high-speed, futuristic journey bridging Tokyo and Paris, paying homage to the legendary KENZO Train Show from Fall to Winter 1998.
Reinterpreting Maison’s signature themes, Nigo channels the concept of movement into a dynamic exchange of cultures, seamlessly blending diverse dress codes, textures, and patterns. The collection comes to life through a vibrant, preppy colour palette infused with the exhilarating spirit of travel.
Nigo partners with renowned American artist Futura 2000 to celebrate creative synergy. This collaboration results in Futura’s iconic stylised atom motif fusion with KENZO’s distinctive boke flower, intricately illustrated on ripstop fabrics, nylon, and embroidered denim.
Pushing the boundaries of traditional tailoring, the collection introduces unconventional silhouettes and plush textures, merging Japanese craftsmanship with classic Western suiting. Workwear elements, influenced by Nigo’s archives, are reimagined in winter-ready materials.
Train travel serves as a central theme throughout the collection’s prints and motifs. The Kenzo Weave, inspired by traditional Japanese flooring patterns, appears in jacquard across denim and tailored pieces. Accessories echo the commuter aesthetic, with leather bags cleverly designed to resemble brown paper and footwear that merges subcultural influences with utilitarian workwear. Finishing touches include leather belts adorned with boke-shaped punched eyelets, adding a signature detail to the lineup.
With "The Kenzo Commute," Nigo crafts a collection that captures the essence of movement, cultural exchange, and innovation—where Tokyo meets Paris in a visionary fashion journey.
