Porsche Achieves 310,718 Vehicle Deliveries in 2024

In 2024, Porsche AG undertook a comprehensive renewal of its product range, introducing a new generation for four of its six model lines: the Panamera, Taycan, 911, and Macan. Porsche recorded growth across four out of five global regions and achieved historic milestones. The share of electrified sports cars rose from 22 to 27 per cent, with almost half of these being fully electric vehicles.

The sports car manufacturer demonstrated strong resilience in 2024, delivering 310,718 vehicles. This represents a slight three per cent decline compared to the previous year. A noteworthy trend is the growing personalisation of Porsche vehicles, with customers increasingly customising their cars to suit their individual preferences.

2024 also saw the launch of Porsche’s second fully electric model, the new Macan. "This launch truly energised us, and I’m particularly pleased that over 18,000 units of the all-electric variant have already been delivered to customers in recent months," stated Detlev von Platen, Member of the Executive Board for Sales and Marketing at Porsche AG. "Overall, we demonstrated exceptional resilience in 2024, navigating a challenging market environment. We have made significant investments in our brand and are encouraged to see our sales distribution across the global regions remaining well balanced."

Porsche Sees Growth in Four Out of Five Global Regions

In Europe (excluding Germany), Porsche delivered 75,899 vehicles last year, an eight per cent increase from the previous year. In Germany, the home market, 35,858 customers took delivery of their cars – an 11 per cent rise. North America remained the largest sales region, with 86,541 deliveries, representing a one per cent increase year-on-year.

In China, 56,887 vehicles were delivered (-28 per cent), with the decline largely attributed to ongoing economic challenges in the region. Despite this, Porsche remains committed to its value-based sales strategy, aiming to balance demand with sales. The Overseas and Emerging Markets region showed positive growth, with a six per cent increase and a total of 55,533 vehicles delivered.

New All-Electric Macan Now Available

The all-electric Macan had its world premiere in Singapore earlier in the year and has been gradually rolled out to markets since late September. By the end of 2024, 18,278 units of the electric Macan had been delivered. In most non-EU markets, Porsche continues to offer the previous Macan with a combustion engine alongside the electric model. A total of 64,517 units of the combustion Macan were delivered, contributing to an overall 2024 Macan delivery figure of 82,795. This represents a five per cent decline, primarily due to the phased rollout of the all-electric Macan and the discontinuation of the combustion-engine model in Europe.

The legendary 911 sports car remained highly popular in 2024, with 50,941 units delivered – a two per cent increase over 2023. The 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman models saw a notable rise of 15 per cent, with 23,670 deliveries.

A total of 20,836 Taycans were delivered last year, marking a 49 per cent decline. This reduction can be attributed to a model change and the slower-than-expected expansion of electric mobility. The Cayenne, extensively updated in 2023, became Porsche’s bestseller in 2024, with 102,889 units delivered – an impressive 18 per cent increase year-on-year. Meanwhile, 29,587 Panameras were delivered, a 13 per cent decline driven mainly by reduced demand in the Chinese market.

Looking ahead to 2025, Detlev von Platen commented: “With the youngest product range in our history, our offering is highly appealing to customers. However, we anticipate that economic and geopolitical conditions will pose greater challenges in 2025. Nonetheless, our objective is to continue strengthening our brand globally and leveraging market opportunities. We will pursue this in alignment with regional demand, staying true to our value-based sales principles."
