New IWC Schaffhausen Limited-Edition Watch Inspired by Formula One™

As the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One™ Team gears up for the new season, IWC Schaffhausen introduces the Big Pilot’s Watch Shock Absorber XPL Toto Wolff x Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One™ Team.

Limited to just 100 pieces, this exclusive timepiece features IWC’s patented SPRIN-g PROTECT® shock absorber system and a design inspired by the team’s black and PETRONAS green colour scheme. The shock absorber spring, crafted from bulk metallic glass, is coated with Super-LumiNova®, glowing in the team’s signature green.

Formula One™ demands extreme resilience, both on and off the track. In the cockpit, drivers endure intense g-forces, and the excitement extends beyond racing. Toto Wolff, the team’s CEO and Principal, has often been seen wearing a prototype of this timepiece during high-adrenaline moments. Inspired by these intense conditions, the watch is engineered to withstand extreme shocks, making it as robust as the sport itself.

Launched alongside the team’s 2025 season race car and the arrival of Kimi Antonelli as George Russell’s new teammate, this timepiece showcases IWC’s cutting-edge engineering. The SPRIN-g PROTECT® system, developed by IWC’s XPL division, cushions the movement inside the case, absorbing extreme g-forces and preventing damage. The innovative bulk metallic glass spring ensures superior elasticity and durability compared to conventional materials.

Encased in Ceratanium®, a proprietary material that blends titanium’s lightness with ceramic’s scratch resistance, the watch is designed for maximum strength. The textured black dial, triangular hands with Super-LumiNova®, and a floating minute scale add to its technical appeal.

Inside, the IWC-manufactured 32101 calibre movement offers a 120-hour power reserve, with blackened components visible through a tinted sapphire case back, which also features Toto Wolff’s signature. The watch is fitted with an integrated green rubber strap, with an additional black rubber strap included.
