For over a decade, Hublot has been a pioneer in the development of coloured ceramics, and it remains the only watchmaker capable of producing these vibrant hues in-house. With the expertise of its R&D and Materials & Metallurgy teams, known as the "alchemists of time", Hublot has accomplished what was once thought impossible in ceramics. This achievement marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter, offering limitless creative possibilities and artistic freedom.
Creating multi-coloured ceramics involves much more than layering pigments. It requires innovative thinking and a profound understanding of how ceramics behave and how colours are reproduced during the production process.
While others have tried to create multi-coloured ceramics, none have succeeded in reaching the level of quality and precision that Hublot has attained. Each pigment must be subjected to different temperatures during the ceramic’s baking and molding stages, making it essential to find the right balance for a flawless result. Hublot’s new "Magic Ceramic," currently under a pending patent, makes its debut in the Big Bang Unico Magic Ceramic, a limited edition of just 20 pieces that showcases one of the many possibilities this new material offers.

The "Magic Ceramic" used in the Big Bang Unico Magic Ceramic is truly one of a kind. The bezel, made from dark grey ceramic, is contrasted by intense blue circles that form a seemingly random yet organic pattern. This modern, abstract design blends seamlessly with the rest of the ceramic, showcasing the ingenuity behind the patent-pending process.

Inside the Big Bang Unico Magic Ceramic is Hublot’s UNICO automatic flyback chronograph movement, designed, developed, and produced entirely within the brand’s ateliers. The movement is finished in a grey tone that matches the dominant colour of the multi-coloured ceramic. A full black rubber strap completes the unique look, combining Hublot’s first in-house automatic chronograph movement with its latest ceramic innovation.
