Starting in July 2025, the Neoliner Origin, a 136-meter sailing cargo ship equipped with 4,200 square meters of sails, will begin monthly voyages from Saint-Nazaire, France, to Baltimore, USA, carrying 20 containers of Hennessy cognac.

By harnessing renewable wind energy, the vessel is expected to cut CO₂ emissions by up to 90% compared to conventional cargo ships of similar size. Additionally, its reduced speed will lessen disturbances to marine ecosystems and biodiversity.

This forward-thinking initiative is also a tribute to Hennessy’s maritime heritage, echoing the brand’s first shipments to the U.S. in 1794.

By reintroducing wind-powered transport, Hennessy seamlessly blends tradition with innovation, marking a significant step toward a greener future.
