Extravagant Transformations for Dior Men’s Winter 2025-2026 Collection
Kim Jones draws on Dior's heritage for Winter 2025-2026, blending past and present with exquisite fabrics and transformative designs.
For the Winter 2025-2026 men’s collection, Kim Jones, Artistic Director for Dior Men, drew inspiration from Ligne H, a creation by Christian Dior for his Fall-Winter 1954-1955 couture collection.
Models descended a grand staircase to showcase the silhouettes, set against a striking cinematographic chiaroscuro backdrop.
Kim Jones reflected on the rich history of fashion, particularly menswear, that shaped the collection: “a transition from the elaborate and extravagant styles of the eighteenth century to the more linear and utilitarian designs of the nineteenth, marking the beginnings of modern menswear.”
Drawing from the Dior archives and blending past and present, the collection features garments that shift between feminine and masculine, such as a coat that transforms into a skirt. Volumes play a key role throughout, enhanced by intricate draping. The modern extravagant dresser is seen in flowing coats with belted waists and delicate masks that conceal the eyes. The silhouettes are both opulent and minimalist, crafted from the finest fabrics, with an emphasis on silks and satins.
Leather goods provide a contrast to this refined elegance. A Dior Roller in shearling complements Dior Normandie totes made from exquisite leather. Classic dress shoes and Dior Palmarès leather boots are elevated with knotted satin toe caps, a couture motif found throughout the collection. Sneakers combine exuberance with artisanal craftsmanship, featuring hand embroidery that recalls the pattern of a 1961 shoe.
Pinstripes and herringbone patterns add a touch of brilliance, while glass beading as delicate as raindrops traces the shoulder lines. To close the show, a soft pink satin couture robe adorned with floral embroidery evokes the Pondichéry look from Monsieur Dior’s Spring-Summer 1948 haute couture collection. These motifs also appear in the jewellery, notably a sterling silver chatelaine worn on the chest. This 18th-century-inspired ornamental chain features a full set of couturier’s tools, including a thimble and scissors.
