Silversea, the premier luxury and expedition travel brand, has announced its World Cruise for 2028, An Ode to the Moment.
For the first time, Silver Shadow will depart from Miami on January 5 and will reach Nice on May 16, completing a 132-day voyage that takes in 58 destinations across 29 countries, with 17 overnights.
This grand voyage, crafted by Silversea’s renowned destination experts, will offer an in-depth exploration of the cultures and histories of the Caribbean, South America, Africa, the Middle East, and Europe.
It will also connect guests with over 30 UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Throughout the journey, a selection of curated events and optional overland excursions, offering exclusive access to unique experiences in the true Silversea style, will further enrich the trip for those aboard.
“Our 2028 World Cruise, An Ode to the Moment, is designed to slow time, offering a more profound exploration of each destination,” - Bert Hernandez, President of Silversea.
An Ode to the Moment is divided into nine chapters, each giving guests the chance to explore destinations at a pace that captures their true essence.

Chapter 1: Anthem of the Tropics
Sailing from Miami to Cartagena, Anthem of the Tropics will explore deeper into the Caribbean, stopping at well-known ports such as Willemstad and Cartagena, alongside lesser-known gems like Jost Van Dyke, Gustavia, and Kralendijk. Longer stays in port allow guests to explore the best of the Caribbean by day or night.
Chapter 2: Reign of the Rainforest
Heading south from Cartagena to Valparaíso, Reign of the Rainforest will introduce guests to South American cuisine. In Cartagena, they will engage in the first S.A.L.T. shore experience of the voyage, the Colombian Coffee Workshop, offering a taste of the rainforest.
The voyage will also include the iconic Panama Canal, visits to Embera communities, and UNESCO World Heritage Sites. In Callao (Lima), guests will attend A Garden of Moments, an exclusive event at the Pedro de Osma Museum, only available on Silversea’s World Cruise 2028.
Chapter 3: Lands of Fire and Ice
In Lands of Fire and Ice, guests will follow in the footsteps of explorers as they navigate around Cape Horn. Sailing from Valparaíso to Buenos Aires, they will enjoy the natural beauty of the Chilean Fjords and Patagonia, with opportunities to witness unique wildlife such as sea lions and Magellanic or King Penguins.
Further exploration is available with S.A.L.T. shore experiences in Ushuaia and Buenos Aires, where guests will sample traditional dishes like Chilean Curanto, Argentine Malbec wines, and Asado Barbecue. For those seeking more, an optional overland tour will take them to the awe-inspiring Iguazu Falls, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Chapter 4: The Beat of Tradition
As the journey enters The Beat of Tradition, guests will be immersed in the vibrant culture and landscapes of South America, including the grand spectacle of Carnival in Rio de Janeiro.

Here, guests will be treated to preferred seating with front-box views at the Sambódromo, where they can enjoy the samba rhythms, dazzling costumes, and steel drums in the historic birthplace of samba.
Chapter 5: The Sands of Time
Following Carnival, guests will head east across the Atlantic, from Rio de Janeiro to Cape Town. The Sands of Time will explore the Southern Atlantic’s hidden gems, including St. Helena, before reaching Cape Town.
There, an optional overland tour offers guests the opportunity to enjoy the best view of the city from atop the famous Table Mountain during a Night on Table Mountain experience.
Chapter 6: Nature in Verse
Nature in Verse offers close-up encounters with wildlife during game drives in South Africa, alongside the exploration of South Africa’s rich heritage and Mauritius’ culture.
In Mauritius, guests will visit Ile aux Cerfs, an unspoilt island famous for its beaches and lagoons. Exclusively for World Cruise guests, the experience includes A Day in Paradise, with a Creole lunch, sega dancing, and a day in the sun.
Chapter 7: Tales of Spice and Silk
This chapter offers 10 days of exploring the Arabian Peninsula, with overnights in iconic cities such as Muscat, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai. Guests will enjoy cultural immersions through S.A.L.T. shore experiences and new destinations.

An optional overland tour from Mahe to Muscat will take guests deep into Rwanda to see Silverback Gorillas in their natural habitat, adding a once-in-a-lifetime adventure to their journey.
Chapter 8: The Ancient Realm
The Ancient Realm chapter delves into the wonders of the Red Sea, with visits to iconic ancient sites. From the breathtaking ruins of Petra to the temples of Luxor and the Valley of the Kings, the journey is steeped in history and culture.
Chapter 9: Echoes of Empires
The final chapter will take guests off the beaten path in the Mediterranean, visiting smaller, hidden gems like Milos, Agropoli, and Diano National Park, which can only be accessed due to Silver Shadow’s smaller size.
The World Cruise will conclude with A Timeless Farewell, an exclusive experience for World Cruise guests only.
