Espace Louis Vuitton München Presents the Works of Katinka Bock and Nick Mauss
Espace Louis Vuitton München presents the works of Katinka Bock and Nick Mauss, showcasing their unique artistic exploration.

The Espace Louis Vuitton München is pleased to present Resonance, an exclusive exhibition featuring the works of German artist Katinka Bock and American artist Nick Mauss.
This exhibition is part of the Fondation Louis Vuitton’s Hors-les-Murs programme, which shares pieces from the Collection across Espaces Louis Vuitton in Tokyo, Munich, Venice, Beijing, Seoul, and Osaka, furthering the Fondation's mission to reach a broader audience globally.

Katinka Bock has explored the concept of “togetherness” (l’être-ensemble) since the 2000s through sculptures, videos, and installations, often using raw or simple materials like sand, clay, and wood.
Her works are site-specific, exploring the physical, historical, and social aspects of the materials she uses, often manipulated to interact with natural forces. This results in sculptures that appear both sturdy and fragile, precariously balanced.
Nick Mauss’s practice spans drawing, sculpture, performance, and more, creating poetic, dreamlike imagery. His works feature abstract and figurative elements, with lines that may be sketched, dotted, or contrasted with splashes and tints to form fragmented silhouettes.

Mauss combines various techniques across different media, including ceramics and mirrors, creating immersive installations that engage directly with the space and its viewers.
Both artists share a common approach, drawing on historical and cultural contexts to inform their contemporary works. Bock’s sculptures engage with natural elements and time, while Mauss blends archival references into his art. Their works challenge traditional art boundaries, inviting viewers to interact with them both physically and intellectually.
