The 850 Fantom Air electric sports boat, featuring propulsion technology from the Porsche Macan Turbo, continues to make waves—not only on the water but also at the industry's most esteemed award ceremonies.

A result of the collaboration between two pioneering heritage brands, the boat’s hull and deck are crafted by Austrian boatyard Frauscher, while its propulsion system and select design elements come from renowned sports car manufacturer Porsche. This innovation has been met with widespread acclaim from industry experts and trade journalists.

At boot, Düsseldorf 2025, the world’s largest boat and water sports trade fair, the Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom Air was awarded the prestigious title of “Powerboat of the Year” in the Electric category during the illustrious Flagship Night. "Frauscher and Porsche combined results in engineering at the highest level," was the jury's verdict. Michael Frauscher, a member of the Frauscher boatyard management team, accepted the award alongside Jörg Kerner, Vice President Product Line Macan. "The eFantom has the potential to revolutionise the boating world," Kerner stated. "Electromobility is also becoming increasingly important on the water. Together with Frauscher, we have succeeded in setting standards in this segment with typical Porsche E-Performance. We are very pleased that this has been rewarded with two top-class prizes."

Before this, in November 2024, the Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom Air also secured the “Best of Boats Award” in the Best Electric category—one of Europe’s most highly regarded powerboat accolades—at Boot & Fun in Berlin. The jury, comprising 15 seasoned boat journalists from across Europe and the USA, remarked: "The leading sports car manufacturer Porsche and the Austrian Frauscher shipyard with its tradition in electric boat building combine the best of both worlds: the Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom Air is the first electric boat to combine the performance of a fast, elegant day cruiser with a modern electric drive."

The Austrian-German partnership has already yielded another impressive creation. At boot Düsseldorf 2025, the Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom made its global debut as a classic runabout featuring a closed foredeck and cabin—naturally, also equipped with the advanced drive architecture from the Macan Turbo.
