The "Create Your Own Swiss Tourbillon Watch" Experience
Your journey into haute horlogerie begins with a warm welcome, complete with coffee and croissants. The day starts with insights into watchmaking history and the intricate tourbillon movement—a hallmark of luxury watches designed to enhance timekeeping accuracy.
Invented in 1795 by Abraham-Louis Breguet, the tourbillon mechanism was developed to counteract gravity’s effects on a watch's precision. By rotating the balance wheel and escapement within a cage, the tourbillon reduces positional errors, symbolising exceptional horological craftsmanship. From 9:00 AM, you will begin selecting each component for your Swiss tourbillon watch. With options including four case models in five colours and various glasses and crowns, the possibilities are nearly endless—4,500 combinations for the case alone ensure your watch is truly unique.
The hands-on portion includes dismantling and reassembling the tourbillon movement, guided by experts. This process will deepen your appreciation for the precision and skill involved in creating such a masterpiece. After a gourmet lunch with your Master Watchmaker, you’ll continue by encasing and fine-tuning your Swiss tourbillon watch. The day concludes with a celebratory aperitif and a certificate marking your achievement.
