Peter Doig’s Lion in the Road (Port of Spain) being sold during the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale as part of the BUILD IT, BEAT IT arts initiative.

Christie’s is delighted to announce that £1,251,814 was raised in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale to support Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity (GOSH Charity). The funds will contribute to the creation of a world-class Children's Cancer Centre at GOSH. Thirty works by 29 artists were sold as part of the BUILD IT, BEAT IT charitable arts initiative, with one additional artwork available in the ongoing Post-War and Contemporary Art Online sale, which remains open for bidding until 12 March.

  • Tracey Emin, In Anger – £30,240
  • Arch Hades, Man of Many – £25,200
  • Jessie Stevenson, That Watches and Receives – £21,420

100% of the hammer price for all sold lots will be donated to GOSH Charity. Christie’s will also contribute 50% of the buyer’s premium for all lots sold.
