Bugatti and Hedley Studios Unveil a Unique Baby II
Hedley Studios (previously known as The Little Car Company) has collaborated closely with Bugatti and its in-house Manager of Sur Mesure and Individualisation, Jascha Straub, to craft a bespoke, one-of-a-kind Bugatti Baby II. This striking yet refined creation pays homage to Bugatti’s unparalleled 115-year legacy, embodying a modern tribute to an automotive icon.
The Bugatti Baby II is a three-quarter-scale, fully drivable and electrified reinterpretation of the legendary Type 35, the brainchild of Ettore Bugatti and the most victorious racing car in history, which marked its centenary last year. This exclusive model serves as a dynamic and heartfelt homage to a design that has left an indelible mark on the automotive world.

With years of experience working with the Bugatti brand, Straub has become a highly regarded and trusted advisor to Bugatti’s elite clientele worldwide. His deep expertise and creative vision allow him to bring to life unique, personalised designs, ensuring that each creation reflects the owner’s individuality. Working closely with customers, Bugatti and Straub offer unparalleled insight throughout the customisation process, transforming each hyper sports car into a personal masterpiece.
For this exclusive Bugatti Baby II, a striking duo-tone colour scheme was chosen, ‘Nocturne’ black and ‘Giallo Midas’ yellow. This combination pays tribute to one of Ettore Bugatti’s preferred colour palettes, which famously adorned models such as the stunning Type 57 Grand Raid Usine. The result is a seamless blend of historical significance and aesthetic brilliance, reflecting Bugatti’s tradition of refined elegance and attention to detail.

Inside, the carefully curated interior showcases black leather supplied by ‘Bridge of Weir’, reinforcing Bugatti’s commitment to luxury and craftsmanship. The design not only honours Ettore Bugatti’s innovative vision but also celebrates Molsheim, the birthplace of the Bugatti legend.
Bugatti and Straub have also incorporated subtle nods to Ettore Bugatti’s lesser-known passion for horses. Beyond his expertise in automotive engineering, Ettore was deeply fascinated by purebred horses, drawing inspiration from their elegance and strength. His love for ‘Pur Sang’ thoroughbreds influenced his approach to vehicle design, a legacy now subtly woven into this bespoke Bugatti Baby II.
This one-off creation also features unique artistic elements that elevate it beyond a collector’s item, transforming it into a true piece of driveable art. The influence of the Type 35’s remarkable racing success is evident in Straub’s meticulous sketches, which embellish the vehicle’s body panels.

Straub first visualised his concept through sketches, refining his vision on paper before transferring it onto the car itself. With exceptional precision, he hand-drew intricate illustrations onto the Bugatti Baby II’s surface, incorporating legendary figures such as Ettore and Jean Bugatti, iconic racing cars, and the historic Château Saint-Jean.
Working directly on the car’s contours, he ensured each artwork maintained perfect perspective despite the complex surfaces. A final clear-coat layer preserves these intricate illustrations, securing them as an everlasting tribute to Bugatti’s extraordinary heritage.
This remarkable Bugatti Baby II encapsulates the brand’s history, passion, and artistry, merging innovation with tradition in a truly unique masterpiece.
