Bentley Reveals a Bespoke Masterpiece ‘The Black Rose’ Batur
Bentley has revealed an extraordinary example of the bespoke commissioning journey undertaken by every Batur customer. This unique creation, named ‘The Black Rose’, is inspired by the elegance of rose gold.
One of only 18 Baturs crafted by Mulliner’s Bespoke Studio, The Black Rose is the result of an intricate collaboration between the client and Bentley’s design experts. The vehicle showcases an exclusive ‘Black Rose’ metallic paint, developed specifically for this customer by Mulliner, complemented by a gloss Beluga upper body. Adding to its distinctive aesthetic, satin Rose Gold accents enhance the front grille, ‘endless bonnet line’ brightware, mirror caps, lower body kit, and 22-inch tri-tone wheels, which encase high-performance carbon ceramic brakes with black callipers.

The luxurious theme extends to the interior, where deep, rich tones of leather and fabrics contrast with the brilliance of rose gold. In an industry-first, Bentley’s Additive Manufacturing (AM) 3D printing technology has been used to incorporate up to 210 grams of hallmarked 18-karat rose gold into key driver touchpoints. These include the Drive Mode Selector, Bentley’s iconic Organ Stop vent controls on the dashboard, and a rose gold insert marker on the steering wheel, showcasing an exceptional level of craftsmanship and personalisation.
The cabin features a carefully curated selection of materials, harmoniously blending Beluga leather, charcoal grey tweed fabric, and Black Rose metallic-painted veneers, perfectly complementing the vehicle’s exterior.

Bentley Motors has pioneered a new approach by working with esteemed goldsmiths Cooksongold, merging advanced manufacturing techniques with traditional craftsmanship. Using responsibly sourced materials, the gold featured in the Batur is derived entirely from recycled jewellery, aligning with Bentley’s commitment to sustainability and its goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2035.
Each gold component produced for the Batur is hallmarked in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, ensuring its authenticity. Furthermore, parts manufactured in 2022 bear the special Jubilee hallmark, commemorating the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee year.
As part of Bentley’s continued investment in innovation, the company allocated £3 million in 2022 to double the AM production capacity at its Crewe facility, transforming digital CAD models into tangible components.

Hallmarked 18-karat rose gold is just one of the many exclusive materials available through Bentley’s Mulliner division. Customers also have the option to explore a range of distinctive finishes, from aerospace-inspired titanium to sustainable, leather-like textiles derived from coffee roasting by-products. With an extensive selection of leathers, woods, and other premium materials, the only limitation is the imagination of each individual client.
Since the 1920s, Mulliner has been at the forefront of crafting bespoke bodies for Bentley’s most iconic models, including the legendary R-Type Continental of 1952.
Today, Mulliner continues to serve as Bentley’s bespoke division, offering an unparalleled, face-to-face experience for customers who desire the most exclusive and personalised vehicles. Clients work closely with Mulliner’s team to create bespoke features and finishes tailored to their exact tastes.
Limited to just 18 models, the Batur marked the beginning of a new design era for Bentley. Following its success, Bentley introduced the Batur Convertible in May 2024, the latest addition to Mulliner’s Coachbuilt series. With only 16 units available, the Batur Convertible stands as the most powerful W12-powered convertible Grand Tourer in Bentley’s history.
