Saturday, the day will feature a blend of clouds and sunny spells, with showers or longer rain spells in the north and west spreading to other areas by afternoon. Most regions will see clearer skies by evening. Highs will be 10-13°C generally, with cooler temperatures of 8-10°C in Ulster. Saturday night will be cold and mostly dry, with lows of 1-5°C and light variable breezes, though a few showers are possible in the northwest.
Sunday, expect a mainly dry start, with clouds gradually thickening throughout the day. Patchy rain and drizzle will likely affect coastal areas in the south and west from the afternoon, turning heavier in the evening and spreading inland. Highs will reach 10-13°C, with cooler temperatures of 8-10°C in Ulster. Light to moderate southeasterly breezes will freshen near coasts by evening, with temperatures dropping to 5-9°C overnight, coolest in Ulster.

The history of patchwork and its introduction to Ireland
On Saturday afternoon, head over to Charleville Mall Library for a fascinating talk hosted by Dublin City Historian in Residence Elizabeth Kehoe. Helen O’Donohoe, a skilled Patchwork and Quilting teacher, will explore the rich history of patchwork and how it made its way to Ireland.
With a lifelong passion for textiles, Helen is a member of the Irish Patchwork Society and won the Visitors' Choice Award in 2019. The event will include hands-on stitching activities and a stunning display of quilts.

Chamber Music Series - Esposito Quartet
On Sunday, don't miss a performance by the esteemed Esposito Quartet, one of the most distinguished and enduring string quartets. They will kick off the concert with Beethoven’s delightful A Major Quartet, which is modelled after Mozart’s A Major Quartet K464, composed just 15 years earlier. This piece features an extraordinary set of variations and an energetic, lively finale.
The concert continues with Paul Frost’s An Old Song, Half Forgotten, composed for the Abbey’s 2023 play of the same name. Following that, enjoy Tomáš Ille’s enchanting arrangement for the string quartet of Janáček’s piano work, In the Mists. The program concludes with Hugo Wolf’s Italian Serenade, a true treat for the senses!

National Botanic Garden of Ireland – Glasnevin
Consider a visit to the National Botanic Gardens in Glasnevin, just 3 kilometres from Dublin city centre. These gardens are renowned for their stunning plant collections, showcasing over 16,000 species and cultivars from diverse habitats around the globe.
The highlight of the Gardens is their beautifully restored historic glasshouses, particularly Richard Turner’s Curvilinear Range and the Great Palm House, both of which have received awards for excellence in conservation architecture.
